26/11: Terrorist tests +ve for alcohol

Mumbai, May 29: The Pakistani terrorist who carried out the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacked had consumed alcohol during the stand-off with the NSG commandos says the blood sample reports of one of the slain gunman.

Rakesh Maria, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) said that the report submitted shows that one of the terrorist had consumed alcohol.

Alchohol traces were found in the samples of Javed alias Abu Ali, the terrorist who was killed in a shootout with the NSG commandos at the Hotel Taj. The tests on Javed's stomach and viscera indicated that he had consumed alcohol and is suspected to have done so while engaging the security forces. Javed and two others had attacked the Hotel Taj in south Mumbai. Ten men allegedly from Pakistan carried out attacks in India's financial hub of Mumbai killing nearly 172 people on Nov 26, 2008.
