Singapore confirms first case of Swine Flu
Singapore, May 27: Singapore's Ministry of Health reported the country's first case of Swine Flu on Wednesday, May 27. A 22 year old woman who returned from New York has reportedly tested positive for Swine Flu or the H1N1 Influenza.
"Singapore has confirmed its first case of influenza A (H1N1 influenza)," the ministry said in a statement.
The woman who was in New York from May 14-24 returned on Singapore Airlines flight on Tuesday, May 26. She developed a cough while on the flight and after testing positive for the flu she is now being treated at a communicable disease centre and was in a stable condition.
The ministry also informed that all her close relatives were quarantined and were given the antiviral medication.
