UAE confirms 1st case of Swine Flu

Abu Dhabi, May 25: The United Arab Emirates on Sunday, May 25 confirmed its first first case of Swine Flu or the H1N1 Influenza.

The WAM news agency reportedly quoted UAE Health Minister Hanif Hassan as saying a man who had flown in from Canada was being treated in a hospital. The victim was, however, no longer showing symptoms of the flu. But he will be placed in isolation for 10 more days. The minister refused to disclose the nationality of the victim.

Hassan, also added that none of the other passengers from the flight were showing any symptoms of the flu.

Earlier first cases of H1N1 flu was confirmed in the Persian Gulf among US soldiers in Kuwait.
