Security Threat: Oman-Chennai flight diverted

Mumbai, May 25: A Chennai-bound flight was diverted for security purposes when a suspicious object was found on board.

The flight that started off at Oman's capital Muscat was diverted to Mumbai as a suspicious object found by passengers triggered off a security alert.

"Passengers had complained of a mysterious object during flight, hence it was diverted," the spokesperson said.

The flight which was carrying about 140 passengers is right now in Mumbai where security officials are carrying out a security check.

However, an IANS report states that the flight was forced to make an emergency landing as a crew member found a note threatening to kill everyone on board. A crew member reportedly found a note that read “You will all die. Bye" in the washroom which triggered off an emergency landing.
