Children discover 100 human skulls in Aligarh
Aligarh, (UP) May 25: About 100 human skulls and other skeletal remains were discovered in a dried-up pond in Aligarh of Uttar Pradesh. The remains are reportedly of the people whom police could not identify and were dumped there to avoid having to organise cremations.
The horrific discovery was made by children playing in a pond that had dried up over the summer in Aligarh. Officials said that the skeletons appear to be have been there for about a decade. After hearing the news Human rights group criticised the police for being irresponsible. Ashish Shulka, a senior official of the Uttar Pradesh State Human Rights Organization said, "Even dead bodies deserve honourable cremation after post mortem. It seems the dead bodies were just thrown in the pond, denying them the respect they deserve."
