Century old steam engine pulls train in Maharashtra

Neralo (Maharashtra), May 25 (ANI): The adorable toot of the steam engine brings back the nostalgic memory of the times when steam engines were used for commuting purpose.

In order to revive the forgotten memories, Indian railways decided to give a re-run to the century old steam engine along the Neral-Matheran track in Maharashtra.This is a steam locomotive engine. When the first passenger train service was started from Neral to Matheran, then steam locomotive was used for the purpose. This train was run for the first time in 1907," said Ashok Dash, Diesel Engine Engineer.

This locomotive steam engine has been kept in the exhibition since 1982.he engineers and the officials of the railways are hopeful that the steam locomotives can come into limelight again. By Ashok Gupta (ANI)
