Bharti restarts acquisition talks with MTN

New Delhi, May 25: Indian telecom major Bharti Airtel on Monday, May 25 renewed talks for acquiring stake in South African company MTN.

Bharti is exploring a potential transaction where by it would acquire 49 pc stake in MTN and in return the South African company and its shareholders would acquire approximately 36 pc economic interest in Bharti.

Bharti and MTN have agreed to discuss the potential transaction exclusively with each other by Jul 31.
