Manmohan's new Cabinet: Six portfolios allotted
New Delhi, May 23: Six portfolios that will form the part of the next Manmohan Singh Cabinet have reportedly been allotted on Saturday, May 23.
Pranab Mukherjee is reinstated as the Finance Minister after 25 years while his post of External Affair Minster will be taken over by S M Krishna.
P. Chidambaram will continue as home minister and A.K. Antony as defence minister.
Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee snatched the Railway Ministry from Lalu Prasad Yadav. However, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar retained his portfolios - agriculture, food and civil supplies and public distribution and consumer affairs.
