Kidnappers kill Indian businessman in Nepal
Kathmandu, May 22: An Indian businessman was kidnapped and killed in a remote town of Nepal on Friday, May 22. 32-year-old Vishal Jain had come from Agra to Nepal to invest in and help run a condiments factory in Mehendranagar in Kanchanpur district.
Police said that Vishal was returning home from the Vaijanath Kath Factory he used to run with relatives when he was kidnapped. His family received a call for ransom with the kidnappers asking for NRS 20 million. After negotiations, the family agreed to pay NRS 1.10 million but there was no trace of the kidnapped man.
On Wednesday, May 20, the police found his body in a forest. His hands and feet were tied, a gag was placed over his mouth and a blindfold over his eyes. There were stab marks and bullet injuries in Vishal's body. Post mortem report said that he died due to gunshot wounds. Indian businessmen, especially Marwaris are increasingly being targeted by kidnappers in Nepal.
