Q4: Bajaj posts 49.79 pc slump in net profit

Mumbai, May 21: Bajaj Auto's has posted a decline of 49.79 per cent in the company's consolidated net profit in the fourth quarter (Q4) ended Mar 31, 2009.

The consolidated total income declined 8.61 per cent to Rs 1,883.27 crore in the March quarter, from Rs 2,060.61 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal. The loss of Rs 47 crore in investments are seen to have caused the decline in the net profit this quarter.

The Pune- based company's consolidated net sales also declined to Rs 1,788.8 crore as against Rs 1,978.4 crore and its forex loss stood at Rs 21.8 crore.
