Amar Singh congratulates Manmohan, indicates chances of supporting UPA
New Delhi, May 16 (ANI): The Samajwadi Party may after all join the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance.
SP leader Amar Singh congratulated Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi for the ruling alliance's grand victory in the elections.
"I congratulate Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi for this wonderful win," he said.
Singh said that any future action by his party would be taken after their parliamentary party's meeting.
"The central parliamentary board of our party will meet and then decide on future action of the party," he told reporters here.
On the revival of the Congress in Uttar Pradesh, Singh said: "I welcome that. Revival of any secular force is good."
The Samajwadi Party leader said the Bahujan Samaj Party has only weakened in Uttar Pradesh, "but not dead," and if the Samajwadi Party had fought alongside the Congress, they would have routed the BSP. (ANI)
