China offers Pakistan million dollars in emergency aid
Beijing, May 14 (ANI): China will give one million U.S. dollars in emergency humanitarian aid to Pakistan to help thousands of civilians displaced by fighting between the government and the Taliban.
Xinhua quoted foreign ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu as saying on Thursday that China took note of Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's appeal for international aid to help more than 500,000 civilians displaced by the conflict in the country's northwest frontier province.
"As a friendly neighbor, China pays close attention to the domestic situation of Pakistan," Ma said, adding the country will offer 1 million U.S. dollars for emergency humanitarian aid to help with the refugees. (ANI)
