60 more extremists gunned down by Pak Army in NWFP
Islamabad, May 14 (ANI): The Pakistan Army on Thursday claimed gunning down at least 60 more Taliban operatives in the Lower Dir region of the North West Frontier Province (NWFP).
According to the media center situated in Dir, the army, acting on a tip-off, pounded the residence of UC Nazim Lower Dir and killed at least 60 extremists.
The building was destroyed completely in the offensive. However, details about the casualties were not ascertained till the reports last filtered in.
Meanwhile, curfew continued for the fifth consecutive day in Swat and Malakand Agency, The News reports.
Several militant hideouts have been destroyed in heavy shelling carried out by the army in Maidan and Kalpani region in Lower Dir.
The entire Shangla district is under curfew except Bashsham and Karokoram Highway. (ANI)
