'Pawar has good chances of becoming PM, if Congress, BJP fail'
Mumbai, May 11 (ANI): If Congress and BJP fail to get a majority after the announcement of the Lok Sabha election results, NCP President Sharad Pawar will stand a good chance of becoming the Prime Minister, Maharashtra Finance Minister Dilip Walse-Patil said on Monday.
"If BJP and Congress do not get the required numbers to form the next government, Pawar has good chances of becoming the next Prime Minister," said Walse-Patil, who is a close associate of the Union Agriculture Minister.
Walse-Patil was quoted by Zee News as saying that the NCP was prepared to contest the Assembly elections scheduled later this year on its own if the Congress continues its non co-operation against his party and threatens to go alone in the Assembly polls.
Earlier, Walse-Patil attended a meeting to discuss the pending irrigation projects in Madha Lok Sabha constituency in Solapur district, where Pawar contested the LS election. (ANI)
