New Delhi, May 7: India has intensified security along the India-Nepal border due to the ongoing political strife in the neighbouring country.

The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which protects the 1,751- km long Indo-Nepal border, has asked its personnel attached with various wings of the government to report to the headquarters immediately.

Adding that the situation is peaceful along the border through the states of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Sikkim, a senior SSB official also revealed that similar orders have been issued to the reserve battalions.

Union Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta has directed the SSB to prevent any movement of unwanted elements along the border.
