Police arrest 20 for Coimbatore army convoy attack
Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), May 3 (ANI): At least 20 pro-LTTE activists were arrested on Sunday morning for attacking an army convoy near Coimbatore on Saturday.
Tamil Nadu Police said cases have been registered against 200 pro-LTTE activists.
The arrested include Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam and Tamil nationalist leader K. Ramakrishnan.
In all, five army trucks were stopped on Saturday while they were carrying ammunition and personnel back from training in Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh.
They were on their way to Thiruvananthapuram. (ANI)
