Hong Kong: 1st case of Swine Flu in Asia confirmed
Hong Kong, May 2: Asia's first swine flu cases were reported from Hong Kong on Friday, May 1.
Chief Executive of Hong Kong Donald Tsang said. revealed that the patient was a visitor from Mexico who travelled to Hong Kong from Shanghai Thursday and was staying at a hotel in the city's Wan Chai district.
In a press briefing the official said that the patient has been taken to the city's Ruttonjee Hospital and was in stable condition. The hospital has been quarantined and the guests are not allowed to leave the premises.
The leader has told the public to not panic assuring that preventive measures and measures against spreading are in place.
Hong Kong has raised the swine-flu alert level from 'serious' to 'emergency' in lieu with the confirmed case of swine flu in the country.
