Gilani gives a rejoinder to Obama's Pak comments
Multan (Pakistan) May 1(ANI):Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Friday reacted strongly to US President Barack Obama's statement that the Pakistan Government is "very fragile".
Talking to reporters in his hometown of Multan, Gilani said President Obama's expressions of concern were his own personal opinion.
He said his government is strong. All institutions, including the parliament, judiciary and media, are functioning effectively within the ambit of the Constitution, he added.
President Obama in a prime-time news conference marking the 100-day of his presidency on Wednesday had said: "I'm more concerned that the civilian government there right now is very fragile and don't seem to have the capacity to deliver basic services -- schools, health care, rule of law, a judicial system that works for the majority of the people."
