Berlusconi's wife wins the battle against his 'babes'
London, Apr 30 (ANI): Silvio Berlusconi's wife seems to have won the battle against Italian prime minister's eye for attractive young women.
His party has decided not to promote the four starlets Berlusconi recommended as candidates for the European Parliament.
Veronica Lario had launched a scathing attack on the Berlusconi insisting that she's 'suffering' from his fascination with young women.
She described his behaviour as "shameless rubbish" and compared him with Napoleon and a Roman emperor.
Berlusconi's governing coalition had initially considered putting forward the women, including television show hostesses and a former Big Brother contestant, as potential MEPs to represent Italy.
However, left-leaning daily La Repubblica stated that the fact only one of the four young women had been chosen to contest the elections in June was a victory for Veronica.
"A win for Veronica, Berlusconi excludes showgirls," the Telegraph quoted the Italian press as stating. (ANI)
