Pak troops reclaim control over key town in Buner

Islamabad, Apr 29: A day after launching an offension against the Taliban militants, the Pakistan troops have acquired the control over a key town in the Buner district.

A military spokesperson said on Wednesday, Apr 29 that the troops that were dropped by helicopters behind taliban lines recaptured control over a Dagger town in the North Western Frontier Province (NWFP) and has linked up with the police and officers from the Frontier Constabulary militia.

In the past few weeks Taliban made its way from Swat Valley to Buner. Defying the governments cues the militants refused to leave, in turn gaining more and more control over near by regions.

Pakistan that was pressurised by the United States to take action against the militants launched its offensive on Tuesday, Apr 28.
