TNSM has no control over Taliban's splinter groups: ISPR
Lahore, Apr.27 (ANI): Pakistan Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) Director General (DG) Major General Athar Abbas has said there are certain splinter groups of the Taliban upon which the TNSM has no control.
Major General Abbas said it is these uncontrolled extremists groups which are creating trouble in the whole region.
He rubbished reports about Islamabad falling into the hands of the Taliban.
"It is impossible for a group of 200 Taliban, who have come to Buner from Swat, to storm Islamabad despite its close proximity to Buner district. The threat cannot be measured in terms of distance, rather it has to be measured in terms of counter capabilities," The Daily Times quoted Major General Abbas, as saying.
Major General Abbas claimed that there were no more than 50 Taliban fighters present in Buner, and that they would be flushed out by the security forces if they created more trouble in the region. (ANI)
