Nepal PM's visit to China cancelled

Kathmandu, Apr 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal's visit to China has been cancelled due to soaring tensions between his government and the Nepal Army over the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) clarification episode.

The Prime Minister was scheduled to commence his visit from May 2, nepalnews reports.

According to the PM's press advisor, Om Sharma, Dahal directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to put off his China visit for now.

During his trip, Dahal was expected to sign a few agreements on Chinese assistance to Nepal. The proposed new friendship treaty between the two countries were also on the agenda.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav had visited Beijing ahead of Dahal's visit. (ANI)
