Madge buys $40m Georgian-style townhouse in NYC

New York, April 14 (ANI): Queen of Pop Madonna is reportedly moving to Upper East Side.

The 50-year-old has bought a four-story, Georgian-style townhouse on East 81st Street for about 40 million dollars, according to sources.

"The townhouse is perfect for Madonna. She's trying to recreate London in New York City, and this is in the style of a London townhouse," the New York Post quoted a source as saying.

One broker who asked not to be identified said that no residence in that area "has ever sold for 20 million dollars, let alone 30 million dollars-- or ever will again."

Sources said that the 'Material Girl' hitmaker will also find the house has bad vibes -- specifically from the Lexington Avenue subway.

According to one visitor, people inside the 26-room mansion can hear and feel the trains coming through.

The mansion has a two-car garage, a 3,000-square- foot garden, nine fireplaces, an elevator, a wine cellar with a grotto, 13 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms.

However, it's not yet in move-in condition. Madonna has plans for extensive renovations, along with major security upgrades. (ANI)
