Hair salon bans Madoff's wife for fear of upsetting 'scammed' clientele

New York, April 14 (ANI): Bernie Madoff's wife could not get her hair coloured at a local New York salon, courtesy her husband's largest investor fraud which has left her facing a ban from entering the beauty premises.

Ruth was prohibited from stepping into Pierre Michel Salon since her presence reminded some customers of Madoff's Ponzi scheme which had taken their husbands for a ride.

"The Pierre Michel salon's clients are among some of Manhattan's most elite," the New York Post quoted a rep for the salon as saying.

"Unfortunately, some of those clients were victims of Madoff, and therefore Pierre Michel didn't feel comfortable having her in the salon," the rep added.

The 65-billion dollar scam perpetrated by Madoff is the largest in the Wall Street's history, hitting 4,800 clients, including charities and Hollywood celebrities. (ANI)
