NC to raise Indo-Pak peace talks after elections: Farooq Abdullah
Srinagar, Apr 13 (ANI): National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Monday said that he would raise 'very important' issues in Parliament after the elections, including the matter of resuming the composite dialogue between India and Pakistan.
Talking to reporters here, Abdullah said: "We will raise very important issues in the Parliament after the elections. One such issue will be a discussion on Indo-Pak relations and resumption of the stalled dialogue between the two countries."
Without mentioning any particular person or party, he claimed that there are certain people who are against the resumption of dialogue between India and Pakistan.
"However," he said: "We will be making a forcible plea for a discussion on the ties between the two countries".
Abdullah further said that his party's agenda was Indo-Pak amity for resolution of Kashmir issue, restoration of autonomy and development in the state.
Talking about the electricity issue in Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah said that though water is in abundance in the state, the people still face a dearth of electricity as the central government has not helped the state to harness its power potential.
"We will sell power to Delhi as well as to Islamabad when we generate power on the available water resources", he asserted. (ANI)
