Militants attack train in Assam, 1 killed

Guwahati, Apr 10: Tribal separatists attacked a passenger train which operated in the North Cachar Hills of Assam, killing 1 paramilitary trooper and injuring atleast 15 on Friday, Apr 10.

Police said that the militants from the outlawed Jewel Garlosa faction of the Dima Haolam Daoga (DHD), popularly known as the Black Widow, attacked the Barak Valley Express, a local train, near Wadrandisa station in North Cachar Hills district, about 380 km from Assam's main city Guwahati.

The attack on train came within days after serial blasts rocked the state of Assam in which 10 people were killed.
