Chidambaram to reply to EC notice on Apr 6

New Delhi, Apr 6: As directed by the Election Commission of India, P Chidambaram, the Union Home Minister will reply to the ECI notice on Monday, Apr 6.

On Sunday, Apr 5 the ECI had issued a notice to Chidambaram for violating the model code of conduct by offering poll sops during his Rajasthan visit for a security review. The complaint was filed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding this issue.

The Commission had also issued a notice to Jaswant Singh, a senior BJP leader for distributing currency notes to the people in Barmer district, Rajasthan. Jaswant Singh is expected to reply on Tuesday, Apr 7.
