Name Third Front's PM nominee: Antony to Left

Kottayam, Apr 5: A K Antony, the Union Defence Minister rubbished Left parties claim that the newly formed 'Third Front' will form government after the Lok Sabha polls and said 'a vote to LDF nominees would be a 'waste'. He urged the Left-led 'Third Front' to name its Prime ministerial candidate.

In a meet-the-press programme Antony said that Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party have declared their prime ministerial nominee, but the Left had not announced its candidate so far. “The Left should clarify as to whom it supports at the Centre and where it will go for setting up the Third Front," said Antony.

The Defence Minister who was campaigning for Congress-led UDF in Kerala, said that the present UPA government will retain power under the prime ministership of Manmohan Singh. He slammed Left for joing hands with BJD in Orissa for mere political gains. Antony launched a skathing attack on BJP and said that if BJP is voted to power, India would disintegrate.
