LS polls: DMK releases list of candidates

Chennai, Apr 5: Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Sunday, Apr 5 announced its list of 21 candidates for the coming Lok Sabha polls. M Karunanidhi' the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief's elder son MK Azhagiri will contest from Madurai.

Azhagiri who is based in Tirupathi, will be contesting the Lok Sabha elections for the first time. He was appointed the party"s south zone Organising Secretary after the DMK"s victory in the Tirumangalam by-elections in 2009.

Union Ministers TR Baalu, A Raja and SS Palanimanikam and former IT Minister and Karunanidhi's grandnephew Dayanidhi Maran are also nominated. The candidate list released by DMK chief has two women candidates, two actors D Napolean and JK Ritheesh and a few new faces.
