62 migrants found dead in container in Pak

Quetta, Apr 5: Atleast 62 illegal immigrants were found dead in a container from Afghanistan enroute to Iran through Pakistan on Saturday, Apr 4. The immigrants mostly Afghans were reportedly being smuggled to Iran.

The truck carrying the container was found abandoned on the outskirts of Quetta. Passers-by heard cries of help and informed the police. Traffickers use south-western Pakistan frequently to smuggle illegal migrants from the region to Europe. Most of the migrants are youngsters ridden by poverty hoping to get better livelihood abroad.

Three years ago atleast 35 illegal migrants were found dead inside a container opened in Quetta.
