Politicians, estate agents least trusted professionals in Britain: Poll

London, Apr. 1 (ANI): Estate agents and politicians have been voted as Britain's least trusted professions in a new survey.

Bar Standards Board, which conducted the survey, struggled to find anyone who could trust the two occupations.

Only one percent people said they trust estate agents and politicians, while bankers (2 per cent) and journalists (3 per cent) got some more public faith, The Telegraph reports.

The poll also found that fewer than one in four people shows trust in members of the legal profession.

"Lack of public trust in the professions is clearly a substantial issue. While legal professionals don't fare too badly in this poll, their net trust rating of 24 per cent is at best under whelming," Ruth Deech, chair of the Bar Standards Board, said.

Only a quarter of respondents said they trust barristers and solicitors above other professions.

More than 2,000 adults took part in KRC Research/YouGov poll earlier this month.

Surveyors found out that six out of ten people do not trust members of the legal industry, accountants, journalists, bankers, estate agents or politicians.

"Having an independent regulatory arm, such as the Bar Standards Board, is one way that the professions can improve public attitudes towards them," Deech said. (ANI)
