New Delhi, Apr 1: BJP leader Jaswant Singh has been caught on tape allegedly trying to bribe voters along with his son and Lok Sabha candidate Manvendra Singh in Rajasthan's Barmer district on Tuesday, Mar 31.
The video footage shows Jaswant Singh violating model code of conduct. In footage, Jaswant is seen handing out cash - reportedly Rs 10,000 rupees - to a woman who was attending the rally.
Jaswant Singh had gone to the district to campaign for his son Manvendra Singh who is contesting on a BJP ticket.
“The government has asked for the footage and it will be forwarded to the state election commission tomorrow," Ravi Jain, District Collector said.
It can be recalled here that Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh distributed money to party workers in Etawah on Holi.
Reacting to the charge BJP spokesman Balbir punj wondered if the EC guidelines apply to the parents of the candidates as well.
