Pramod Mahajan's daughter not to contest LS elections

Beed (Maharashtra), Mar 31 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Gopinath Munde on Tuesday said that the daughter of slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, Poonam Mahajan, would not contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Munde informed that the party has denied her ticket from North-East parliamentary constituency.

He refused the possibilities of Poonam contesting from any other constituency in Mumbai.

The BJP leader said despite denial of the ticket to Poonam, the Mahajan family would continue to work for the party and also participate in campaigning for the upcoming general elections.

Pramod Mahajan's brother-in-law and former Deputy Chief Minister Gopinath Munde had pitched for the Mumbai South ticket for Poonam, which ultimately went to alliance partner Shiv Sena and subsequently for the Mumbai North East, which was given to Dr. Kirit Somaiya. (ANI)
