1.7 mn Facebook users protest against its redesign

San Francisco, Mar 24: Over 1.7 Million Facebook users have raised their voice against another redesign has of the website. It is one of the biggest consumer revolts seen in the online world.

On Monday, Mar 23, a Facebook group named 'Petition Against the New Facebook' had 1,727,394 disgruntled members, while a Facebook sponsored poll on redesign had received more than 1.2 million votes, with just 75,000 approving the new design.

In an attempt to compete with the microblogging sites like Twitter which are advertisement friendly, the redesign was launched by Facebook last week. Opponents of the new design say it clutters their home page with updates from people they don't care about, while also limiting the number of features available to users.
