London, Mar 23: Pakistan has provided the DNA samples Mumbai terror attack suspects to the Interpol for the world police body to check the samples against its global database.

This move by Pakistan would allow the Interpol to help the Pakistan Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) to determine the full international dimension of these attacks the world body said in a statement issued from its headquarters in Lyon, France.

Approving Islamabad's move of providing the samples, Interpol Secretary General Ronald K Noble said it sets "a benchmark for Interpol in terrorist-related investigations".

Interpol quickly ran the information through its database but did not specify the outcome.
