Mother abandons newborn on plane in NZ

Auckland, Mar 20: A Samoan woman abandoned her baby after giving birth onboard a flight to Auckland from Samoa according to the local media. Airline workers found the baby in a toilet compartment after more than an hour later. Later the mother and baby were reunited and are admitted in hospital.

The incident occured at a Pacific Blue flight carrying about 150 passengers. It is not clear whether any of the other passengers or crew on the flight were aware that the woman was in labour.
