SGPC seeks probe into burning of Gurudwara Sahib in London
Amritsar, March 19 (ANI): Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC), the highest governing body of Sikhs, has written a letter to Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh over the reported fire incident of a Gurdwara in East London (UK).
"The SGPC has written a letter to Dr. Manmohan Singh about Gurdwara Sahib burnt in East London (UK). It has also demanded a police investigation to know if it was an accident or anything else," said Avtar Singh Makkar, the President SGPC.
Reports says that one of London's most important gurudwaras, housing priceless religious books, has been gutted in a suspected racist attack in Britain on Tuesday.
Dr. Pritpal Singh the Convener of the American Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (AGPC) informed ANI over phone from San Francisco that they also conveyed their concern to the US State department.
He said that an awareness campaign should be initiated that makes the world understand that the Sikh community is not against anyone but it always makes (prayers) Ardass for "Sarbat Da Bhala" (well being for everyone). By Ravinder Singh Robin(ANI)
