I'm not in the race for PM: Jayalalithaa
Chennai, Mar 16: Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo, J Jayalalithaa on Monday, Mar 16 that she is not in the race to become the Prime Minister and that the Third Front grouping has a bright future.
"While we are not in the race for the Prime Minister's post, atleast for now, our opinion that the Prime Minister should be elected only after the elections remains unchanged. Anyone can aspire to be Prime Minister because someone has to be the leader after all," Jayalalithaa told reporters.
She said that the nation needs a party like Third Front and not parties like Congress and BJP.
Reacting to the Prime Ministerial ambitions of BSP leader Mayawati and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar, she said that it is the opinions of the parties concerned.
