British mums do #32,000 of household work a year

London, Mar 16 (ANI): British mums do more than 32,000 pounds of household work every year, according to a new survey.

Commissioned by insurers Legal and General, the survey showed that household chores like childcare, cleaning, and cooking would cost an average of 32,812 pounds, if families had to pay outsiders to do them.

The Brit mothers make worth 25 per cent more than the average national wage of 24,000 pounds - with 2,734 pounds a month.

The data varied between areas and according to whether mums had full or part-time jobs as well.

According to the survey, at the top were stay-at-home mums putting in an 82-hour week, worth 36,036 pounds a year.

A working mum doing 55 hours around the house is worth 24,492 pounds.

Mums were found to work harder than dads, who were "valued" at just 23,296 pounds.

"Mums are a rock for many families, making sure the home runs smoothly, the children are looked after and often holding down a job of their own," the Sun quoted Legal and General's Alan Ferguson as saying. (ANI)
