Zaman Kaira new Pakistan IB minister

Islamabad, Mar 15: Yousuf Raza Gilani, the Pakistan Prime Minister has reportedly accepted the resignation of Information and Broadcasting (IB) Minister Sherry Rehman. Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas Qamaruz Zaman Kaira is appointed as the new IB minister.

According to sources, Rehman told Gilani that the unwarranted interference in her work by some ministers had affected her prestige.

She said it was this undue interference that convinced her to quit.

She also informed Gilani about Punjab Governor Salman Taseer's insulting behaviour towards her.

Rehman, said she would continue supporting the governmnet's policies.

Following President Asif Ali Zardari's order to black out, Geo News, Rehman had sent in her resignation to Gilani.

Rehman said the decision was taken without consulting her.
