Post 26/11: Renovated Taj crystal room reopens

Mumbai, Mar 12: After the deadly Mumbai terror attacks on Nov 26 2008, Mumbai's iconic Taj Mahal Hotel reopened doors of its newly renovated Crystal Room in the heritage wing on Wednesday, Mar 11.

As part of re-opening a dinner was organised by Rolex, which celebrated the first concert of Vienna Philharmonic in India. The audience were also enthralled by the finest orchestra conductors Zubin Mehta and pianist Lang Lang. The musical evening ended with a dinner at the Crystal Room of the Taj Hotel.

The iconic Taj was one of two luxury hotels taken over by terrorists on Nov 26, 2008. The 60-hour siege killed 183 people in 10 locations and another 239 were wounded.

The Taj, which opened in 1903, is India's most famous hotel and also one of its most luxurious. After the 26/11 attacks the hotel's interiors were charrged and was marred by bullet holes and grenade blasts, its corridors soaked in blood.

Finest music which reverbarted at Taj hotel on Wednesday, Mar 11 faded away the sounds of bullets and grenades of 26/11.
