TCS to sack under-perfoming employees

Chennai, Mar 9: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India's biggest software exporter by sales will lay off employees who failed to meet performance standards in next few months.

TCS will layoff less than a percent of its global workforce over the next few months. According to a spokesperson, this roughly works out to almost 1300 of its total employee count, which is around 1.3 lakh.

To beat global economic slump many IT companises have started adopting strict measures, cost cutting and improving productivity.

Sources also said that lay-offs have already started happening at the company"s development centres in Chennai, where over two hundred employees have been asked to leave in the last fortnight.

TCS corporate communication team accepted that layoffs for under performing employees have begun, but they refused to reveal about the numbers.

Company CEO S Ramadorai said company is not planning about job cuts as of now, but if the economic crisis continues it may do so.
