Hundreds of exiled Tibetans stage protest in London against draconian Chinese crack down
London, Mar.8 (ANI): Hundreds of exiled Tibetans and their British supporters took to streets here on Saturday to protest against Beijing's violent clampdown on anti- government activists.
The agitating Tibetans through the Tibet society asked the British Government to pressurize the Chinese administration to discontinue their suppressive policies, and allow an independent inquiry inside Tibet to determine what's actually happening inside Tibet, and present a clear picture in front of the international community.
The Tibet Society also urged the Brown administration to act on its own statement in which it had expressed 'deep concern' about the human rights situation in Tibet in October last year.
"It is a shameful indictment of the Chinese government that, 50 years after its brutal crackdown on the Tibetan people, they continue using the same policies today," one of the organizers of the protest march, Philippa Carrick said.
Carrick said that the draconian prison sentences and excessive force to curb unarmed protesters by the Chinese government has made the matter worse.
"These are not actions of a responsible country and certainly do not bring any trust or respect for the Chinese government," SKY news quoted Carrick, as saying. (ANI)
