Deadline extended indefinitely for Solecki's release
Lahore, Mar. 7 (ANI): Pakistan militant outfit Balochistan Liberation United Front, which came into limelight after abducting UNHCR official John Solecki, has indefinitely extended the deadline for the government to accept their demands in exchange for Solecki's release.
According to a private TV channel, a BLUF spokesman said on Friday that the deadline for Solecki's release had been extended for an indefinite period.
The spokesman further said that Solecki was in good health, while adding that the release of the missing Baloch people should be done 'without any further delay', the Daily Times reports.
Meanwhile, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called up Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday to express his concern over regional peace and efforts to recover Solecki.
Other important points of their conversation were the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore, and the formulation of an inquiry commission to investigate Benazir Bhutto's assassination. (ANI)
