Congress rules out alliance with JD-S

New Delhi, Mar 7 (ANI): Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President R. V. Deshpande on Saturday ruled out a tie-up with H. D. Deve Gowda-led Janata Dal (Secular), saying Gowda is in the Third Front.

"Gowda has already stated that he is with the Third Front. It is an old story now. The talks are for finalizing the Congress candidates without any alliance," Deshpande told reporters here.

Deshpande was here to take part in the Screening Committee meeting to finalize party nominees for Karnataka. Another round of meeting will be held before the names are decided by CEC.

All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary in-charge of the state Ghulam Nabi Azad and Defence Minister A. K. Antony have also participated in the meeting. (ANI)
