No shisha smoking in public in Dubai

Dubai, Mar 6: Media reports suggest that the Dubai Municipality (DM) has banned smoking of shisha in parks, beaches and recreation areas. This move by DM is to protect public health and to improve the quality of life in line with the Dubai Strategic Plan 2007-2015.

The Municipality has also urged the visitors of these place to abide by the decision. It was in 2007 the DM first launched regulations against smoking starting from shopping malls extending to public sports clubs, restaurants, cafeterias, hotels, hotel apartments etc. In June, 2008 DM banned sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products to youths under 20-years of age.
