Share health records via Google Health

San Francisco, Mar 6: Google Inc on Friday, Mar 6 decided to allow patients to share electronic medical records with loved ones or care takers who may be needed to help in emergencies. The internet giant decided to allow people to selectively share the documents based on the feedback it since Google Health medical records service was launched in May 2008.

A new feature 'share the profile' is added to Google Health now which allow chosen people to view, but not alter, online medical records. Google said that renewable links to health records are uniquely made for each recipient and automatically expire after 30 days. Google Health which is free, enables people to have electronic copies of information such as prescriptions, lab test results, hospital stays, and medical conditions stored on Google computers. It is also linked to pharmacies, clinics and diagnostic labs.
