Raj Babbar to contest in a Congress ticket from Fatehpur Sikri

Agra, Mar 5 (ANI): The Congress released its first list of 24 candidates from Uttar Pradesh for general elections, which include film actor and the former SP leader Raj Babbar from Fatehpur Sikri.

The list also includes the Congress president Sonia Gandhi (Rae Bareli), Rahul Gandhi (Amethi), Sanjay Singh (Sultanpur), Ratna Singh (Pratapgarh), Begum Noor Bano (Rampur), Jatin Prasad (Dhaurahra), Sriprakash Jaiswal (Kanpur), Jagdambika Pal (Dumriaganj) and Salman Khurshid (Farrukhabad).

Babbar's present constituency Agra has been declared reserved in delimitation process.

For the Agra seat, other political parties have also named their candidates.

Bahuja Samaj Party (BSP) will contest with Kunwar Chand Vakeel from Agra seat while Seema Upadhyay from Fatehpur Sikri.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is fielding Rama Shankar Katheria from Agra while Samajwadi Party (SP) will contest with former Union Minister Ramji Lal Suman. (ANI)
