EC to review poll preparedness in UP today

New Delhi, Mar 4 (ANI): Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalswami and two Election Commissioners Navin Chawla and S Y Quraishi will visit Lucknow on Tuesday evening to review the poll preparedness for the coming Lok Sabha polls.

During their two-day visit, the team will meet the top State Government officials.

According to official sources, the Commission is scheduled to hold a separate meeting with the chief secretary and director general of police.

The Election Commission is expected to hold consultations with the Chief Electoral Officer, DMs and senior district police officials to review the readiness to hold the elections in a free and fair manner.

Uttar Pradesh, which has the maximum of 80 seats, will have five-phased polls. (ANI)
