BSF shoots down intruder, seizes heroine and ammunition
Mahawa (Indo-Pak Border): Border Security Force personnel shot dead a Pakistani intruder when he was trying to sneak into the Indian side of the border with an accomplice at the at Indo-Pak Border on Tuesday midnight.
Eight kilograms of heroine worth four million rupees in international market, one Chinese pistol and a 12 bore double barrel gun with cartridges have been recovered from the place of incident.
During exchange of fire between security persons and the intruders, at least one intruder was shot dead, while another managed to flee. The BSF said the second was injured before he could run away.
On Wednesday, Akhil Ahmed, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) with Border Security Force (BSF), said: "Yesterday at around midnight, BSF troops, patrolling the Indo-Pak border, noticed three men carrying guns sneaking into the Indian territory. When the security personnel asked them to surrender, they started indiscriminate firing on them."
Meanwhile, the BSF has claimed to have arrested one Kazamudin, a resident of Karachi, following search operations after the incident. By Ravinder Singh Robin (ANI)
